ClawBox hardware is yours to own. A ClawBox AI subscription is optional and powers the
managed AI experience, a few device features, a bigger backup allowance and a higher
support tier.
Plans
There is no model to pick in ClawBox AI chat on any plan. What the plan buys is how much
you get, plus the device features below. Your plan is shown on the ClawBox AI card in Settings → Providers and comes
from your portal account, not from a local setting.
What a plan unlocks on the device
Where a feature needs a plan, its own first step says so and offers the upgrade — nothing
is hidden without an explanation.
You can also run ClawBox with your own provider key or subscription, or with
local models, instead of ClawBox AI — see
Choose Your AI Provider. The provider list depends on your
edition: on Hermes it is OpenRouter, Anthropic, Google
Gemini, z.ai/GLM and Kimi by key, plus sign-in for OpenAI (Codex), GitHub Copilot, Anthropic
and Nous Portal. Usage, allowances and credits
Settings → Providers shows what this box’s account has used: a weekly chat
allowance, a 5-hour burst window on top of it, meters for images, text-to-speech
minutes, speech-to-text minutes and memory indexing, and your credit balance.
Credits are spent only after an allowance runs out, and paid plans can top them up. When
an allowance does run out, the chat says which one and when it frees up rather than

Managing your subscription
Subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Use the customer portal link in your billing
email to update payment details, change plan, or cancel.
